The city of Tartu is firmly moving towards carbon neutrality. In recent years, various projects aimed at reducing the city’s footprint have been implemented in renovation, mobility, street lighting, district heating and other areas. One of the most significant and complex has been the SmartEnCity lighthouse project which just ended – in July this year. We walk through the city center area and get acquainted with the smart apartment buildings renovated with the support of the project, innovations in district cooling/heating, sustainable solutions in mobility and street lighting.
